Tomorrow have a look at Films and TV shows that have used school as the location for the action, you mention using stereotypes because an audience can relate to them, find examples and link them to the media theory you know! Have a look at Bad Education, Big School, Summer Heights High (any of the Chris Lilley spin offs), Inbetweeners, Educating Yorkshire (which students and staff did they choose to focus on? What was their appeal to an audience?) Glee, Waterloo Road, Please Sir! Bonjour La Class (going back a bit!)and all the classic mockumentary series too! Starter for 10 might be worth a look too for the game show feel?
